Irwin D. Kunkel

Irwin D. Kunkel, 95, formerly of Temple, died Monday in Hearthstone at
Maidencreek, Maidencreek
Township, where he resided since July 2005. His wife, Thelma Adam Kunkel, died
in 1981.
Born in East Brunswick Township, he was a son of the late Nathan and Hannah
Freeman Kunkel. He was a
1933 graduate of Rider College, Lawrenceville, N.J.
He had been employed for 58 years as a salesman for Electrolux Corp. in Berks
and surrounding
counties, until he retired.
He was a member of Zion Windsor Castle United Church of Christ, Perry Township,
Citizens Against
Government Waste, Judicial Watch and the National Committee to Preserve Medicare
and Social Security.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey L. Kunkel, Woodstock, Md.; two daughters, Karen E.
Kunkel Ready, Indiana,
Pa., and Elizabeth L. Kunkel, Ballwin, Mo.; two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday [November 11, 2006] from Milkins Funeral Home
Inc., 4914 Kutztown Road,
Temple, with the Rev. Randy Bond officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m.
until the time of
services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Zion Windsor Castle Cemetery,
Perry Township. In
lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498
Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA
19605.

James W. Kunkel

James W. Kunkel, 55, of 606 Country Hill
Road, Orwigsburg, died Friday evening [November 26, 2004] at Little Mountain
Road, Bethel.
Born in
Pottsville, Sept. 20, 1949, he was a son of the late Harry N. and Mary A.
Rissmiller Kunkel. He attended Blue Mountain High School.
He was employed by J. Marlin Ernst Trucking Co., Orwigsburg, as a truck driver
for 23 years until his retirement in March. He had also worked at Strouse
Brothers Construction Co., Orwigsburg, for a few years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg.
Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia M. Futchko, whom he married on June
13, 1971; a daughter, Alicia M., wife of David S. Kieffer Jr., Bethel; a
grandson, Mason R. Kieffer; two brothers, Morton H., husband of Elsie Kunkel,
Orwigsburg, and Thomas N., husband of Gail Kunkel, Orwigsburg; three sisters,
Barbara A. Beyer, Perkasie, Jane M. Lovell, Kutztown, and Cynthia J., wife of
Ricardo Muntone, Orwigsburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jim's life service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday from Hamilton
Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg. The Rev. Joseph J. Scholtes Jr. will officiate.
Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations
may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, East Pennsylvania Chapter 2,
International Plaza, Suite 245, Philadelphia, PA 19113-5451. Interment services
will be private.
